Degree
Graduate in Physiotherapy from Universidad de Málaga. Professional registration number: 4791.
Physiotherapist and director of Clínica Vigar. Graduate of Universidad de Málaga and Master in Invasive Physiotherapy from Universidad San Pablo-CEU. Physiotherapist for the Spanish Olympic Sailing Team at Paris 2024.
Before treating athletes, Claudia was an athlete herself. She competed in the Europa sailing class, reached 7th place at the 2012 World Championship and understood from the inside what a body needs when it trains at the limit.
That experience led her to specialise in sports physiotherapy. She was official physiotherapist for the Finnish National Sailing Team in 2013, worked with the Catalan Sailing Federation and, in 2024, joined the technical staff of the Spanish Olympic Sailing Team in Paris.
Alongside that work, she spent years with Trail Running athletes and CrossFit athletes in Barcelona. Her research on the ultrasound pattern of the shoulder in 208 CrossFit athletes came from that clinical setting.
Since 2013, Claudia has trained continuously in ultrasound-guided invasive physiotherapy. Her training includes the official Master in Invasive Physiotherapy at Universidad San Pablo-CEU, specific training in EPI, Neuromodulación Percutánea Ecoguiada and Musculoskeletal Ultrasound, as well as ultrasound of the neck, neuraxis and peripheral nervous system.
Musculoskeletal Ultrasound is included in the assessment when it provides useful clinical information for better decision-making, not as an automatic step.
In 2017 Claudia began practising Iyengar Yoga. Since then, it has become central to how she understands the body. A two-year journey through Asia and Australia allowed her to train with reference teachers and collaborate with Australian physiotherapists, training them in ultrasound and learning an approach more focused on active movement and the role of the mind in pain perception.
Today she continues training in Iyengar Yoga with José María Vigar in Málaga. Her treatment philosophy is clear: normalizing the tissue is only half the work. The other half is relearning movement, so the injury does not return.
Normalizing the tissue is only half the work. The other half is relearning the movement that caused the injury.
Claudia directs the clinic and supervises each case. She works with a team of collaborating physiotherapists who share her clinical reasoning and treatment method.
